Crafting the Alki Totem: A Sculptural Tribute to Nautical West Seattle

The creation of the 'Sentinel' sculpture was a uniquely challenging project, set forth by my clients who desired a striking metal sculpture for their Alki Beach home in West Seattle.

Tasked with designing a sculpture that would soar over 30 feet high within the stairwell of their residence, I aimed to encapsulate the maritime essence of their home and its coastal setting. The design concept was to craft a totem-like structure, with each segment symbolizing elements of the sea: beach pebbles, sunfish, sea birds, and orcas.

This approach resulted in a custom and unusual artwork, perfectly tailored to resonate with the nautical spirit of their home.
