Large Sculpture by Troy Pillow
Creating large-scale sculptures involves more than sheer scale; it's a process of capturing imagination and expanding the limits of sculptural expression. These works are crafted for environments such as lobbies, gardens, and expansive landscapes, where their presence is experienced as an impactful, tangible force. A critical aspect of placing such sculptures is ensuring their scale harmonizes with the surroundings. I meticulously consider each environment to guarantee the sculpture not only fits but also complements the space.
Harmonizing Sculpture with Space
In the creation of my sculptures, I delve deeply into various critical aspects: the character they should embody, the architectural context they will enhance, their specific placement, and the dimensions, scale, and color dynamics of their intended environment. My choice of materials, predominantly metals and glass – both drawn from nature – are sculpted into flowing forms, bringing a sense of motion and vitality to their otherwise static existence.
This careful consideration in design ensures that each outdoor sculpture is not merely placed but belongs in its space, achieving a harmonious blend with its surroundings. This method not only draws the viewer's eye but also ensures that the sculptures enhance and elevate the environment, creating a unity between art, architecture, and the natural landscape. |
