Daylight: Capturing the Essence of
Central Oregon's John Day River

The 'Daylight' sculpture was a commissioned piece for friends who own a ranch along the John Day River in Central Oregon.

This artwork is a tribute to the natural beauty of their surroundings, capturing the essence of the canyon's rimrock, the river's flow, and the moon's mystique.

The contemporary sculpture features a stacked base, artistically representing the rugged rimrock formations of the canyon. A kinetic disc is thoughtfully incorporated to symbolize the ever-changing phases of the moon. Completing this representation is a delicate glass inlay, mirroring the meandering path and serene beauty of the John Day River, bringing the landscape's tranquility and dynamism into a tangible form.
