My sculpture, the Nine Muses, is mentioned in the latest issue of Via Magazine ” Thanks to bustling cafés, stylish boutiques, and restaurants with wide-ranging wine lists, this pedestrian- and bike-friendly pocket of Salt Lake City is becoming a hot spot.
The Nine Muses is a series of nine sculptures, stainless steel with some powder coating, enameling, kinetic parts, 2004
Location: 900 South and 900 East attached to pedestals in planters on corners District 5 The busy commercial and residential area of 9th & 9th was transformed with this streetscape upgrade through artwork, landscaping, lighting, and seating. The project was designed to reinforce the identity of the business district. The intersection was designed in a circular pattern using stamped street pavers for more delineation. The landscaped corners hold the pedestals in which the artwork was installed. Benches and light posts are placed throughout the 2 block area to designate the district. The project scope was to interpret the 9 muses of Greek mythology; the daughters of Zeus & Mnemosyne. Each muse was the inspiration of an aspect of the arts and sciences. Comments are closed.
