Connected, 2013
14′ x 6′ x 8′ Stainless steel, wood, powder coated base Seattle, WA: For this project my client, AvalonBay Communities, was looking for a sculpture to be placed at the main entry of the new AVA University District building. The artwork is visible as pedestrians approach from either direction. Connected reflects the urban nature of the University District. The individual compartments, which contain kinetic elements, represent the diversity of the community and the individuality of the people who make up that community. Each person inhabits a different space and possesses a unique agenda. The overall composition of Connected represents the flow of our lives and how we connect, disconnect and reconnect as we move through time. Client: AvalonBay Communities Comments are closed.
