The Bend Bulletin recently published this beautiful photograph of an air balloon floating above the sculpture Yakaya. Yakaya is a sculpture that I created for Art in Public Places, in Bend , OR. . The site is located on the Deschutes River and adjacent to a 13 acre park of open space which includes a kayak launch. I worked with Eddyline Kayaks to have 9 custom kayaks built that I would incorporate into the sculpture. You can read about the piece here.
Shidoni also took a couple more of my pieces on the same trip. This one is called Petoile and is a Bronze Kinetic Sculpture. In the video below you can see the kinetic movement.
My friend, photographer Shelley Spray, recently took this amazing photograph of my piece, Connection. Connection was commissioned by Intuitive surgical Inc. of Sunnyvale California. It was one of two pieces commissioned by them and designed for the Sunnyvale Public Art Program in Sunnyvale, CA.
This week I installed a new piece. A private commission called, Nothing is Certain, in Seattle, Washington. It is a powdercoated steel, kinetic sculpture.
