AVA Queen Anne is a new residential space with studio, one and two bedroom apartments featuring urban-inspired design. The concept of “erosion” was used in the design of the building, with more solid, filled shapes morphing into transparent shapes that reveal floor plates and structure as the building stretches down the hill to the water.
I worked with architects & urban planners GGLO on the AVA Queen Anne apartments to build a powdercoated steel fence with colored acrylic panels and magnetic locking gate to highlight the entrance to the live/work studios. Avalon Queen Anne is one of the first projects to be subject to the City of Seattle “Green Factor” and features extensive green roofs, planted areas and landscaped streetscapes.
